The kingdom King Ognev I The Kingdom of the unknown is ruled by a king named Ognev Vlaminck. He is the one that manages the releases of the unknown, undecided and nonexistent. King Ognev I is a 26 year old art and Technology teacher who has decided to become an independent artist. He makes his works known to a larger audience under the name and concept of the Kingdom of the Unknown . The King works with all kind of techniques such as photography, different paint techniques, airbrush, and different drawing techniques. He also likes to work with different materials to make sculptures and to create interior designs. Computers, network and website design are also part of his talents. King Ognev has studied art and woodwork in an art and crafts school in Belgium. He is also a qualified IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) Middle Years Teacher. Momentarily he works in an international school (World International School, http://www.wis.be) near Brussels in Belgium. The Kingdom of the Unknown The Kingdom of the Unknown is an artistic concept that assembles all the work created by his ruler, King Ognev I. Rather than wondering what will happen when we and our surroundings become part of the past, the Kingdom of the Unknown looks forward towards what is to come. Knowledge, decisions and inventions must come from somewhere before they invade our world and become part of our daily life. King Ognev has decided to take responsibility for this place, which he called the Kingdom of the unknown, and to rule over and to manage the release of the unknown, undecided and the nonexistent. He is the one that makes sure that the unknown becomes known in a chronological manner so innovation can be celebrated in our world. The Kingdom of the Unknown can be compared with a basement where creation takes place. Once creation is finished, it will be used in the living space (our world or the Kingdom of the Known). When this creation gets replaced by another creation it moves up to the attic (Kingdom of the Forgotten) where it will rest in peace. Paintings Transfusion When in our world, the unknown is processed to become known, the undecided is ready to be decided and the nonexistent ready to be invented, it is comparable with a ball thrown over a wall. The moment that the ball is motionless in the air waiting to change direction represents the transfer between the Kingdom of the Unknown towards the Kingdom of the Known, better known as the world we live in. The wall stands for the border between these two worlds which has to be crossed inevitably in order to generate novelty. World¡¯s primitive side Before the light bulb was invented, t belonged to the Kingdom of the Unknown. In the real world people used to use candles to illuminate their surroundings, not knowing that one day the light bulb would be introduced by passing it over this invisible border of the Kingdom of the Unknown and their world. This painting is representing transparency on one side of the window where a candle can be seen by the Kingdom of the Unknown. The other side of the window is reflective and stands for the primitive vision of the world at that time. The light bulb in the Kingdom of the Unknown¡¯s side stands for all the ideas, events and decisions which are actually untaken decisions, unhappened events and uninvited ideas of the real world.
